The Feks family are very polite, remembers who everyone is and has community involvement for the kids to give back to the community with share-a-thons, donations that the kids themselves participate in. Since we have no family in Virginia, FEKS has become ours. We love the respect shown, the positive values shared with the children and how we are made to feel special, individually, and to be pushed to be our best no matter what age. Paul has taken your karate class for about a year at FEKS and I have noticed a great change his attitude. At first, he didn't want the change (from another school), because of high standards in physical challenges and different styles, but I could tell he was not happy with his current program. FEKS gave him the opportunity to show his RESPECT (pledge, wearing his junior blackbelt, calling his teachers "Sensei", "Master' etc), produce LEARNING (punches , katas, etc), and experience CHALLENGES (his belts were not given, they were earned). I have enjoyed the pleasant and good natured instructors that have helped my son. This is a lifetime SPORT that will help him develop into a wise and strong adult.

You and your staff will be pleased to know that I successfully used one of the Krav Maga techniques that I learned in your class for self defense purposes. A choke defense at that! I recently started bouncing at the bar on fort ave (Outlanders), and although it was unfortunate; I was able to use the choke defense technique accurately and quickly solving the threat that was physically addressed to me. Thank you for all the knowledge that you and your staff have passed on to me. Just figured you would like to know :-).
